An early Christmas present for the Ruskin Hall

This year the Ruskin Hall was lucky enough to receive an early Christmas present in the form of a much needed new roof, thanks in part to the wonderful people at Whonnock Roofing and Gutters. (Read to the end of this post to watch an interview with owner Clay Gagnon.) 

A lot of people may not be aware that the Ruskin Hall is community owned and run. Everything from booking rentals, to organizing Craft Markets and Potlucks is done by our community of hardworking and very dedicated volunteers. We are not funded by the city, and the task of raising money for upkeep of our almost 100 year heritage hall has always been a priority. A new roof has been needed for years but always seemed out of reach.

The last year saw a lot of hard work and support from our community of volunteers, both new and old, and the Ruskin Hall finally had money in the bank to start work on much needed upkeep. The roof was our number one priority. 

Whonnock Roofing and Gutters heard we needed help and reached out to one of our members, offering us an amazing deal we couldn’t turn down. They very generously covered the material costs and within a few days of our members okaying the project, Whonnock Roofers had already started on the job! After two days of hard work, one in the pouring rain, we have a new roof!

We are forever thankful to Whonnock Roofing and Gutters and highly recommend this local, very hard working and generous company.
